Welcome to Creating Webpages with SchoolWires!

My name is Terry Toth. I have been a teacher in the East Stroudsburg Area School District since 1991. I teach computer integration at the John T. Lambert Intermediate School which houses 900 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students at the southern end of our district. I am a certified math teacher but since 1993, I have taught technology through integration for all students at JTL. This teaching has included a large variety of different technologies including web design. I used to have my media design class develop web pages for all activities and events going on at our school, but two years ago, our district went with SchoolWires, giving our teachers an opportunity to update web space on our school site without the need for HTML, or specific web design programs.

This inservice was specifically designed for teachers who want time to develop their personal site. It is critical that as educators we make the public aware of what we do for our students and community everyday! SchoolWires is a simple way to touch base with our students and community. We will create educationally appropriate biographies, upload files related to our classes, create easy to use contact information, add calendars so parents and students can keep track of schedules and homework etc. Much of this session will be a work session. Tools will be discussed to create the necessary content on pages, but having and being able to post resources will be critical for all participants wanting to make a huge difference with how the public sees you professionally.
